About Us
Scared Panda is a Chicago t-shirt shop who’s mission is to engage local artists and the Chicago art community to come up with t-shirt designs that show our unique perspectives of the city. In addition to working with local artists, we have made a pledge to give 10% of each t-shirt sale to a local organization of that shirt’s artist’s choice.
Our t-shirts have a unique story behind each and every one of them, so not only are you getting an awesome looking t-shirt to sport and helping a local organization, but you can also take pride in knowing that there is some meaning behind the design and t-shirt. We hope you enjoy all of our products as much as we do.
If you have a few spare minutes, head over to WLUW and listen to Clint talk with Outside the Loop radio about our the project and our mission to make t-shirts for a good cause here.
Our Chicago
We started Scared Panda to get involved with local artists and to show off local perspectives of Chicago. Our unique perspective has been of the Tamale Guys. The Tamale Guys are men who go from bar to bar and sell tamales and as they walk into a bar, everyone cheers. There are two tamale guys – one carries a red cooler and one carries a blue – we have been loyal fans of the red cooler for years (we even created an app to track him on Twitter) and his delicious tamales are the inspiration for Scared Panda’s first t-shirt, Tamale! Tamale!.
